Steam account age checker
Find any public Steam profile's creation date, its exact age, and the Years of Service badge level that comes with it. Need the raw SteamID formats instead? Use the SteamID converter.
Where the creation date comes from
Every public Steam profile carries the date the account was registered. It never changes: a new persona name, avatar or vanity URL leaves it alone, so it is the one stable fact about how long an account has existed. The checker reads it from Steam’s own public profile data for the account you enter, which is why the result matches the Years of Service badge on that profile. A private profile, or one that was never set up, keeps the date hidden, and no checker can read it then.
What account age actually changes
On Steam itself, not much: the Years of Service badge gains a level each year, worth 50 XP a level toward your Steam level (the Steam level calculator shows what that XP is worth). Off Steam, age is a quick trust check. Trading groups, community servers and clan recruiters often look at account age next to hours played, and an account that is years old with almost no playtime reads like a dormant or bought one. For CS2 specifically, our CS2 Trust Factor guide covers what Valve has confirmed and what it hasn’t.
Age is fixed, but hours on record are not. How to farm Steam hours covers the ways to close that gap, from leaving a game open to farming 24/7 from the cloud with your PC off.
Steam account age questions
How do I see how old my Steam account is?
Paste your profile URL, vanity name or SteamID64 into the checker above: it reads the join date from your public Steam profile and counts the exact years, months and days since. Inside Steam, open your profile, go to Badges and open the Years of Service badge, which shows the date you joined.
Can I check the creation date of a private Steam profile?
Usually not. Steam only shares the join date of a public profile, so a private one shows as "creation date not exposed" here. Setting the profile to public for a minute is enough to check it, and you can switch it back right after.
Does account age give Steam XP?
A little. The Years of Service badge goes up one level for every full year since the account was created, and each level is worth 50 XP. A ten-year-old account gets 500 XP from it, about the same as five crafted card sets.
Does an old Steam account help in CS2?
Valve says CS2 Trust Factor looks at how your Steam account is used over time, but it does not publish how much account age counts. An old account with almost no hours on record still looks thin on a profile, and that part is something you can change.
Old account, empty library hours?
HourFarming idles up to 32 games per account, 24/7, so the playtime catches up.
