How it works
- Add your profile. Paste your Steam profile link or SteamID. HourFarming reads the public profile — name, avatar, level — and that’s it. Set your profile comments to Public if they aren’t already.
- Get comments. Pick which profile should receive one — your linked profile or any account you farm — and queue it. Points cover the cost; another member picks it up, writes a comment, and it lands on your profile.
- Earn points. The board shows up to ten members waiting for a comment, with their level and a suggested line. Copy it (or write your own), open the profile in Steam, post, press I posted it. HourFarming reads the profile’s comments, finds yours, and credits you on the spot. To earn you prove the profile is yours once — a single official Steam sign-in — or simply comment from an account you already farm here, which needs no proof at all.
- Keep going, or top up. There’s a fair daily limit on earning so the board stays worth something. In a hurry? Buy a point pack in the app — a one-time purchase, sizes and prices shown before you pay.
Why we never post a comment for you
Automated “comment bot” services exist, and they carry a real risk Rep Farm is built to avoid: a script posting on your behalf leaves a pattern — identical phrasing repeated across many profiles, comments landing in unnatural bursts, timing no human types at. That is exactly the kind of spam fingerprint Valve and the Steam community both watch for, and accounts caught leaving it risk having comments removed, being reported, or worse.
Rep Farm never posts a single comment, and there is no API for bots to do it either. A member opens a real profile and writes a comment themselves, in their own client, at their own pace — the same action anyone takes browsing Steam. It costs a few seconds of actual typing per comment instead of an API call, and that is precisely what keeps every comment on the exchange looking like what it is: a real person, leaving a real comment.
What points actually do
Points are the only currency on the exchange. Each comment you write on a board profile earns points the moment it’s verified; each comment you receive costs points when you queue your profile. HourFarming re-checks every earned comment later — one that has been deleted gives its points back and puts the profile back on the board for someone else. Nothing converts to money or to farmed hours; points only ever move comments around.
Rather earn nothing and just get comments? Point packs are a one-time purchase inside the app — pack sizes and prices are shown before you buy, and a refunded pack simply removes the points it added. Your balance and every request’s status — waiting, done, re-checked — stay visible the whole time.

Comment exchange questions
Is a Steam comment exchange safe for my account?
On Rep Farm, every comment is typed by a real member who opened a real profile — nothing is ever posted on your behalf. That is the opposite of automated comment-bot services, which leave an obvious machine fingerprint (identical phrasing across hundreds of profiles, comments landing in bursts at speeds no one types at) for Valve or the community to flag. One person, reading one profile, leaving one comment looks exactly like normal Steam activity, because it is normal Steam activity.
Does trading +rep comments break Steam’s rules?
No. Leaving a comment on another member’s profile is ordinary Steam behavior, available to anyone with an account. What would be against the rules is automating that action, and HourFarming never does — every comment that earns or spends points was typed by a human, on their own account, through the normal Steam website or client.
Do I have to sign in through Steam to use Rep Farm?
Not to join, and not to get comments: paste your profile link or SteamID and your profile can be queued for comments right away. To earn points by commenting you prove the profile is yours once — either through Steam’s official sign-in page (Valve’s page, in a popup; your password never reaches HourFarming) or by commenting from an account you already farm on HourFarming, which needs no extra step because the farming engine has already verified it.
Why do my profile comments need to be set to Public?
Steam sets new accounts’ profile comments to friends-only by default. Comments have to be Public for two reasons: other members need to be able to leave one on your profile at all, and HourFarming confirms a comment landed by reading the public profile — a friends-only comments section is invisible to that check. Steam → Settings → Privacy → Comments → Public.
How are comments verified, and when do I get the points?
After you post your comment, press “I posted it” on that row. HourFarming reads the profile’s public comments, finds yours — posted after the request went up and long enough to count — and credits the points to your balance immediately. It then re-checks the profile later on its own to make sure the comment is still there.
What happens if a comment is deleted afterwards?
The points it earned are taken back off that member’s balance, and the profile goes back on the board so someone else can comment. Commenting and then deleting nets nothing, which is what keeps the exchange fair for the people paying points to receive comments.
What should I write in the comment?
Every profile on the board comes with a suggested line and a Copy button, so you never have to think one up — “+rep, great profile” style. Your own words are just as good; any genuine comment past the short minimum length counts. Write something a real person would leave, because you are one.
Can I get comments on the accounts I farm?
Yes. Every Steam account HourFarming farms for you already has a verified Steam ID, so each one appears in the “Get comments” picker with no extra linking step — spend points on your main profile or on any account in your fleet.
Do I need to farm Steam hours to use Rep Farm?
No. Rep Farm is a separate product on the same HourFarming account — nothing has to be farming hours for you to add a profile, earn points by commenting, or queue your own profile for comments.
